Our founder, Mr. Nanji Kalidas Mehta, left his native land at age 13 in a country vessel bound for Africa. He carried with him a spirit of adventure, determination to succeed and little more than his dreams. The year was 1900 and the unit of currency used to trade with the local tribes was Cowrie Shells.

The Mehta Group sprung from these dramatic yet humble origins.

Today, the Mehta Group controls assets in excess of US $500 million and has over 15,000 employees worldwide. It is a multinational, multi-activity enterprise with a global presence spanning 3 continents: Asia, USA and Africa.
